the first deviance

[ well it's all been lovely. Hitei's met new people, discovered that she has some kind of immortality against Player attacks - though she's not planning on testing that again anytime soon - drunk a lot of green soda, and now, after a lot of talking with NPCs and the quest stall, she's ready to actually explore.

She's at the Chaos Gate, relic in hand, entering words. Disputing Heretic's Night Moon. The data that comes up seems promising... as far as she can tell. There's only one way to really find out. ]

Anyone care to join me?

[ man she looks like the worst kind of squishy mage, too. ]

All right. Let's move carefully and try to get closer. If they're not hostile, we don't want to seem like WE are and start a fight we don't want.

[So saying, Roy moves forward cautiously, sword held at his side.]

[Roy keeps his voice quiet.]

I got a 14 on my Move Silently check. You?

I won't say this is unexpected.

[As the first goblin charges in, Roy hefts his sword, then whacks through it without much effort. He's been fighting goblins for ages, and even with the deleveling, the Greenhilt sword remains an awesome piece of steel and starmetal.]

Great Cleave!

[And he whacks another one. But there aren't any more in range.]

I hope you roll better on Initiative than you do on skill checks!

Those aren't spells I'm familiar with -- argh!

[Three goblins had surrounded him, and one of them had gotten through his guard to score a wound on his head. (His round, bald head.) Just a scratch, but as is the nature of head wounds, it bled profusely.]
