[He glances at him at that, tensing up as well when noticing his reaction.] What is it?

[ .. mmm.. ] I feel a little uneasy.

[And he's quick on his guard at that, surveying his surroundings for potential enemies. Were they being followed?] Let's be more careful. We can't be sure what's lurking here.

[resipiscence]

[ a terse nod. ] It could be nothing, but... we should be on our guards regardless.

[ advancing forward! ] Keep your weapon close.

[Not too hard to do when he's got them on his hands, at least, though he nods and is quick to follow.] Do you want to switch places? I don't want you getting attacked all of a sudden.

No, it's-- [ aaaand as he says this, there's a growl coming from in front of them, around the bend. aphrodi's eyes widen, before his captain instincts kick in. ] Against the wall. Right now.

Just what--- [He doesn't get much time to speak, not when whatever they just heard? Decided to come looking for them.] Look out!

[ .... oh god. ] Fall back!

[ and he's going to drag you if he has to, dammit. there's a little alcove here. if they don't have the element of surprise, it might be a hard battle, especially since he gets the feeling there's more than one of those things out there. brb dragging you behind this rock-- ]

[Wait, there is something wrong with this sequence. Tsubaki resists long enough to try switching their positions, wanting Aphrodi to head in first.] Get in first! If they manage to get us, you won't do well being in front.

[ ugh, he's right. he'll quickly slip in-- and make sure you get in here, too. ] We need a plan. But before that, we need to see how many of them there are. Just stay put.

[Well, he understands that much and nods, displeased despite keeping his guard up. All right, what do we have here?]

[ four... five... no, seven goblins that have currently marched in. good thing they ducked behind that rock, since it looks like they can't find them. aphrodi's eyes narrow. quietly-- ] ... we're out-numbered.

Aah. [He agrees, much to his chagrin.] It would be better to let them pass until they're far enough not to be able to catch up.

he has... very nice shirts yes....

[ he nods. ] It's a good plan. [ and he's patient, to boot. though he's a little worried about you, tsubaki-- you seem like the hot-headed type to him. he'll hold his judgment until they're out of this mess, though. ]

[For now, he listens though, restless as he is. Well, if he were to be honest, he was exhausted as well, so any reckless battles wouldn't be too good on him at all.]

[ yyyeaaah he also notices that you took a beating. aphrodi is actually in better shape, considering he's a long-range fighter and that he's used to tough physical excursions, but it's better if they rest.

he'll take it upon himself to keep watch over the ambling goblins, watch as they try to sniff them out. ... it's tense. they seem to be wandering closer to the rock. ]

[He leans back, trying to conceal himself further, though it was obvious from his stance that if they come too close, he would probably punch the closest one. It wasn't a very ideal situation.]

[ ... though he doesn't like this. out of the corner of his eyes, he monitors your situation, before ducking down further behind the rock. getting out his inventory, he materializes a potion-- and holds it out to you. ] Here.

A health drink. It'll replenish your energy. [ well, he isn't exactly lying-- ]

I see. Well, I am feeling quite thirsty. [Luckily it's not poison, since this is Tsubaki and he can be a little too trusting sometime---

BLEH!] Just what is this taste?

[resipiscence]

The worse the medicine tastes, the more effective it is.

Medicine, huh? [Wow, he just got duped.]

Fine, you could've warned me though. [But trying again! This time he doesn't spit anything out at least.]

Perhaps. Though I wasn't lying when I said that it's a health drink, and that it'll certainly replenish your energy.

[ waiting until you finish... ] How do you feel?

[Now that he mentioned it...] I feel a lot better. I didn't think that energy drinks were so effective. [Dad always told him too much is bad for him, even if he never took one.]
