Mac Anu's resident sunny Harvest Cleric kid has been wandering about even more than usual today. He had a determined look on his face, and spedwalk to and from various stores.

A. [Maybe you're just around the area, or inside the store? While Taiyou smiled and thanked the merchant NPC's for their assistance, he looked pretty disappointed once he got out the door. What exactly is he looking for so fervently?]

B. [Some hours later, he's sitting at the fountain, fumbling with what seems to be cloth and a length of rope. He's trying to tie the cloth up, but why? His concentration is so strong he doesn't notice anyone staring or approaching.]

C. [Even later later(!!!) before you can see it coming a ball of cloth is flying through the air at your general direction. (Don't worry, it probably won't hurt very much on the offchance you get hit. Let's just hope for Taiyou's sake the person who gets hit isn't pissy...)]

[ upon closer look, the other individual does seem to be more or less his age. which is a nice change from the usual, considering the average age group that he's been noticing. aphrodi waves off the apology with a hand nonchalantly, and hums at the other boy's words. ]

Weight? [ tossing the cloth ball up and down for a moment, as though gauging its weight! ] Are you making something?

Mhm, a soccer ball. I haven't been able to practice lately since no one had any for sale.

[He lightly scratches his cheek, and sheepishly grins.]

So I decided to just make my own. Though honestly I didn't have much of a clue how to go about it.

[resipiscence]

[ and like any good soccer kid, his eyes light up when realization dawns. tossing the makeshift soccer ball up, he catches it with a foot and kicks it in place for a bit contemplatively, guiding the path of the ball smoothly. then, he catches it again, before holding it out to the other boy. ]

The balance isn't bad. Is it just made out of cloth?

Not really. I had to use a lot of plastic bags to wrap into a core. Then one cloth layer that I tied up with twine... Then a second layer of cloth to stitch in...

[Taiyou trails off, before absently accepting the soccer ball back into his hands.]

Good to know its balance is decent, this took me all day to make!

[ man, that's some dedication. he takes the moment to be a little impressed. ]

And it looks like your efforts were rewarded. Were you practicing just now?

[Taiyou chuckles, and bows slightly in a joking display of pride.]

I was actually just testing the ball. But if you think it's good enough maybe I can start practicing seriously now...!

If you don't mind. Soccer's more fun with people, right?

In that case, let's get started!

[Taiyou promptly drops the ball to between his feet, and waits for Aphrodi's first move.]

Hope you're ready.

[ and of course, aphrodi's eyes are on the ball-- and he doesn't waste a single moment in acting. dropping his center of gravity suddenly, he'll do a feint, and attempt to steal the ball! ]

[And steal it, Aphrodi does with ease! Taiyou didn't know what just hit him.]

Oh!

[But now he does. This stranger's good. Really good. But they don't call Taiyou a genius for no reason! Picking up the pace, he's soon by Aphrodi's side, and readying to time a tackle.]

[ well. proof that his skills haven't dulled in the least. aphrodi looks pleased, before whirling in an attempt to keep the ball in his possession-- fancy footwork, ho!

oh, but if taiyou times the tackle right, he'll definitely take the ball back. here, aphrodi will look just a little surprised, before grinning-- ]

Not bad.

[And time it right, he does! After that whirl, he keeps up with the long-haired boy in his run. One two, and now! With that charge, he takes possession. Without slowing his pace, he turns to the other with a returned smirk.]

Neither are you!

[resipiscence]

It's no fun if it isn't challenging. [ ahh. he's missed this. returning a smirk, he maneuvers himself quickly so that he's staunchly blocking your advance! he'll try not to let you leave that certain area. ]

Looks like we see eye to eye there--!

[There's the opening. Will Aphrodi take it?]

[ and of course he does-- swooping in! ]

[The ball goes back-and-forth between the two, and when they finally finish, Taiyou laughs and talks between panting.]
