02 Wandering Meteor (Hidden Eternity's Two Wings)

[If you went to "Hidden Eternity's Two Wings", you'd be greeted by a beautiful sunset and grasslands bathed in golden light. The water looks like melted gold as it reflects the light, the rhythmic sounds of the waves as they crash on the shore, and the warm breeze embracing you. If you close your eyes and listen, you would hear the sounds of combat in the distance. Upon further investigation, you would find Ryusei fighting a group of goblins by himself. He seems to have taken some damage, but his foes aren't fairing too well either.

Will you help him, or watch and see how things unfold?]

[...This guy is ridiculous. But they managed to make it through the battle just fine, so at least there's that. Once the monsters are cleared, she'll lower her bayonet and make her way over to him.]

Do you always make those sounds?

[minetodecide]

[He puts the scythe away and rubs his hands, brushing the dust off.]

Sounds?[A pause]Ah, my battle cries. Well, that's how I was taught. It gives power to every strike.

[tank_sniper]

...You know that probably doesn't do anything in a game like this, right?

[She raises an eyebrow, keeping her weapon in hand for now. She doesn't have the HP to spare if she gets attacked unexpectedly.]

Probably not, but it's mostly psychological, suppose to make one feel more powerful. And besides, it's become a habit already.

[He walks over to the treasure box and kneels before it.]

Now, let's see what's in this.

[tank_sniper]

Be ready in case it's trapped.

[She stands a little behind him, her posture loose. The warning was more of a reminder than anything else; she's not actually expecting it to be trapped.]

[minetodecide]

[Trapped? Like booby trapped? That didn't even occur to him. He stares at the box before positioning himself to dodge if it explodes.]

Stand back.

[He slowly puts his hands on the cover and takes a deep breath. In one swift motion, he flips the lid open and steps back. After a few moments and seeing as nothing happened, Ryusei got closer and peered inside.]

What's this?

[He reached inside and took out a piece of what looks like an emblem or symbol.]

[tank_sniper]

[She looks at him in disbelief, but obligingly backs off a bit as he opens the chest. It's not until he retrieves the item that she steps forward again, catching sight of the treasure.]

Ah... that's one of the three pieces we need to collect to clear the field. Once we find the other two, the temple door will be unlocked and we can go inside and get the final treasure box.

I see. I do remember something like when I went here. [He puts the piece in his inventory.]

It's quiet a simple quest isn't it?

[tank_sniper]

Very simple. It's not really what I'm used to when it comes to games, but it's not that hard to get used to.

[She pulls out her Relic and pulls up the map. Since it's a field, all of the relevant treasure chests show up without the need of an item, meaning...]

The closest chest we need is over there.

[She points in the direction of another island, connected to this one with a bridge.]

Sounds good, let's go.

[He starts walking in the direction Shinon pointed to.]

You said "it's not what you're used to in games", do you play a lot?

[tank_sniper]

[And she'll follow!]

There was one game I played a lot, but the setting was much different from this one. This might be normal for fantasy-type games; I'm not really sure.

[minetodecide]

Is that so? You must really loves games then.

[As they approached the second chest, the sound of angered goblins started to fill the air. Ryusei takes out his gauntlets and cracks his knuckles.]

Here they come. Heh, I'll try to be a bit more quiet this time.

[Blatant lie. He just wants to tease.]

[tank_sniper]

...Not really.

[Shinon pauses, actually backing up a bit as she raises her gun to take aim. She'll hold off on firing until after he's drawn their aggro, though.]

-I see them. Try to keep them off of me, will you?

[minetodecide]

Roger.

[Ryusei cracks his knuckles and charges. They make a pretty good team, Ryusei could fight without any worries of someone attacking from behind. For the first time in a long time, he go wild. He had dispatched another goblin with ease, oh the prize was so close he could already taste it.]

[Shinon coolly provides backup, occasionally using her only available skill to deter the goblins from attacking Ryusei's blind spot. Each shot is accurate; she's been at this long enough that her aim is pretty much impeccable.]
