Anyone who might be in the square today may find the unusual sight of Tsubaki by the fountain, arms dipped inside as he tried to search for something. His makeshift tent was situated nearby, one he had been staying in due to the lack of an inn. Why he chose to camp right in the middle of the city, no one knows. Still, that was hardly the dilemma.

Nope, him blindly reaching through the cold waters was the dilemma. Anyone who knows him may also notice he is squinting badly, and he can't seem to focus at all on what he's looking for.]

Ah, excuse me...

[Due to his possible relative lack of eyesight, Tsubaki may not even have noticed the cleric approaching him.]

Did you lose something?

[He shoots up straight almost immediately at the words, splashing water about as he tries to see the face of whoever had asked him a question.

Well damn, it was too blurry to make out anything but a blob.] I'm... fine! You don't need to worry about me.

[This was reasonable. Mia had never seen this person before.]

I was merely careless. I dropped something inside, but I don't want to trouble anyone for it. It's my responsibility to search for it.

[Ah, spotted by someone else. He really should've been more careful.]

No, I'm fine. I just dropped something in the fountain. [He narrows his eyes at him, trying to figure out a shape.

Nope, no go. Damn, it's hard to see without that.]

Dropped something? [He moves closer to the fountain and peers inside. The water looks clear enough to spot items that fall in. Maybe what he dropped was something small.]

Do you need some help?

I'm fine. If anything, I don't want to bother you for it. It was my mistake to drop them in the first place.

it's fine, I'm already here anyway. [He starts to roll up his sleeves and pants.] So, what did you drop?

[He was about to protest again, but decides to bite back the words immediately. He did say he was going to improve on relying on others more, even if it still felt awkward with strangers.]

My contact lenses. I can't see very well [if at all, everything was practically one giant blob to him.] without them.

Ehh?! Contacts?! In the fountain?! [They're goooone bro, he's sure of that. But he gets in the fountain anyway.]

Cold! Haah![He starts searching the other side of the fountain in case they drifted to the other side.]

If you lost something like that then you really won't find if you can't even see.

You didn't need to go so far as to enter it! [Oh man, now he feels even worse about making others do something for him.]

I apologize for troubling you. I should've been more careful about my belongings.

You know, if you want a bath, you should actually get in the fountain. [He puts his hands on his hips.] But a fountain is a crappy place for a bath anyway.

[Sputtering at that.] You fool! Whoever said I wanted to do such a thing?! [As if he'd do that where everyone can see.]

Why are you messing around the fountain then?

[He'll just walk up to Tsubaki and peer into the water with curiosity.]

[Well err... okay, that was something embarrassing to admit.] I dropped my contacts in there. I can't see very far without them, so I was hoping to locate them immediately. It's hard with the flowing water though.

How'd you do that? Aren't they supposed to stay in your eye?

[Now that he knows for certain what Tsubaki's doing, he carefully climbs onto the edge of the fountain (after making sure the contact wasn't on there) so he has a better view inside the water.]

It's not important how they fell in! What matters is that I can retrieve them.

I guess I'll help you look then.

[Look how generous he is!!! Not that he wasn't already looking in the fountain before saying that.]
