Second Shot

[There is a Steam Gunner who may or may not look familiar hanging around Mac Anu today. Really, it's more like she's just gazing in the distance while she eats a small meal - some fruit and water purchased from a nearby store. It's not a whole lot, but it's enough to fill her and give her the energy she needs to do some more level grinding.

While it does look like she has some things on her mind, she's not exactly exuding her usual "don't come near" aura. In fact, given her tendency to be out in the dungeons more often than not, now might be the perfect time to chat her up a bit.

That, or try to prank her while she's not looking. Whatever floats your boat really.]

[It was only a matter of time before these two met again. They were a part of the same guild now, after all, each having joined without the knowledge of the other.

Mia had managed to acquire something called a "banango" from one of the stores, which looked... oddly banana-like.]

[tank_sniper]

[The blue catches her eye, and she glances over at the other.

.......Oh. That's... one of the people she met while in a panic, huh?

Hello again.

[She starts unpeeling the banango. It really is almost exactly like a banana.

Mia doesn't really get along too well with bananas, it seems.]

[...This is kind of awkward.]

Do you need help with that?

I... would like that. Thank you.

[She passes the fruit.]

[tank_sniper]

[Shinon quickly takes it and peels it for her, leaving enough unpeeled that it's easy for Mia to hold onto it. Once she's finished, she hands it back.]

Just tug on the strips to peel it some more when you need to.

[She nods. She would remember that.]

About last time... I don't blame you for what you said. I wasn't really being helpful then, was I?

[And here is where it gets uncomfortable. She turns to look at the scenery instead, feeling a mix of guilt and foolishness.]

...No, it wasn't you. I was just... scared. I didn't know what was going on, and I thought for sure I was trapped in a... in a death game.

[While the exact meaning escapes her, the implications are there.]

That would have been very cruel, if I'm imagining it right. It's better to avoid dying anyway, though.

[Shinon nods.]

I found out that we won't really die if we are killed in battle here, but I'm still not going to let myself be defeated easily.

Really? What happens then?

From what I can tell, you end up back in town. Probably around the Chaos Gate.

That's mysterious, but it sounds helpful, if only as a last resort.

But I'd rather not let that happen. I'm a cleric; it's what I do.

[Tsubaki had just come back from a few hours of trying to level grind, giving up only when he realized he exhausted what little potion he had on him. Really, he knew it was rather reckless, but there wasn't much he knew he could do in this place that seemed just as necessary as level grinding.

And that's when he noticed her.] Ah! It's you.

[Hm? That voice was awfully close...

Oh, that guy.]

[And that's when he notices the food.] You're taking a break as well then?

[tank_sniper]

Yes. It would be stupid to try to fight on an empty stomach. Even here, we need to make sure our bodies are getting the right nutrients.

[orokamononya]

Well, of course. I'm glad to see you're taking care of yourself well at least.

Where are you headed for after this break though?

[tank_sniper]

I'm just going to level grind until I need to eat again. Even if I weren't focusing on getting stronger here, that's basically all there is to do.

[orokamononya]

[... That doesn't sound too healthy.] While I understand the need, wouldn't it be better to spend some time with your friends as well? That can't be too healthy living like that.

[tank_sniper]

[...Wow, way to hit on a bit of a sore spot, Tsubaki.]

If I want to see my friends, I need to get out of here as quickly as I can. And if I want to do that, I need to get stronger as fast as I can.

[orokamononya]

[... Urk, he hit a sensitive spot, didn't he?] Do you take breaks aside from just eating and sleeping then?

[tank_sniper]

If I get fatigued, I'll stop for a bit. There's no point in trying to fight if you can't focus on it.

That's not my point!

Do you do anything besides train?

[tank_sniper]

...Not really. I have my goals. Even if there were other things to do here, I can't just ignore them.
