Pit stumbles into a group of NPCs as he wobbles along, rousing some complaint and concern-- 'Is he alright?' 'Watch where you're going, clumsy!'

He doesn't seem to mind, or even notice, mumbling to himself as he checks over his Relic.]

Ooogh... I just had the biggest... longest... weirdest dream. Feels like I've been out for ages.

...'Least I'm not... [yaaaawn] A ring... this... mumble grumble ...

There was some program or spell preventing me from making contact, so I didn't punch him. [He won't tell him he aimed for the face though.]

He's probably pretty steamed at me by now. Guy's kind of moody...

Oh, um... it's kind of a long story, but... I guess you'd say we're two halves of a whole, or, um... is that the right expression?

Well, see, there was this mirror, and it was able to, um... copy souls? I think? And the bad guys were planning on using it to make a super army! But then I broke it, but I guess something went wrong with it and, um....

[No, if it had been the Amazing Mirror, it would have been an even longer story. Still, there is something shaky in his voice.]

[That look was a bit of a feather-raiser for the little angel, but since it passed...]

A... a couple times, but he's not obsessed with it or anything like you usually hear in those 'dark twin' stories.

[Fluttering a bit uncomfortably, he frowns up at Meta Knight]

[Was he too quick to side with Dark Pit? He never saw any bloodlust as he had seen in...

He doesn't meet Pit's gaze]

I was reminded of something that happened to me.

[Pit backs off, scratching behind his ear awkwardly.]

...I'm sorry. I didn't mean to bring up bad memories.

...I once had a mirror clone try to kill me.

...It's fine. The more I talk about it, the less embarrassing it becomes. [But he still hesitates to get it out.]

...It was an elaborate plot. An evil force lurking in the Amazing Mirror lured me to the Mirror World. He created a dark reflection of myself who managed to best me and trap me in the mirror. That copy then took it on himself to ruin my reputation.

A mirror world, huh...? Can't say I envy you. Did you manage to beat him in the end?

He shattered the mirror so I had no way to escape. But he was stupid enough to assault our greatest hero whose petty vengeance knows no bounds.

That's-- uh. That's an odd quality for a great hero, but okay!

Sooo I'm guessing it's because of them that you're okay...?

Yes. As bumbling and stubborn as he is, he has a pure heart, and I think that's what enables him to fix things, especially the gigantic disasters he unintentionally creates.
