[Dirk had decided to be productive. Ish. (Productiveish? That ain't even something tha-...and that led to a chain of thought he decided to not climb down for the time being. His responder had better not be letting him down, though.)

In a way he had gotten the idea from Faris. If the pirate use could magic from crystals (he wasn't sure he wanted to know) and the game they were in had no problems, then there was no reason why he couldn't use puppetkind or fncysntakind. It wasn't like he had forgotten how to use either of them. No reason at all.

Well, except for not having any puppets or fancy Santas to weaponize.

He had obtained the materials through a long and arduous process which - frankly speaking - didn't really matter. It was pretty boring, as was him finding a quieter part of Mac Anu and starting work, so we'll skip to the interesting part: Dirk had gotten a little bit sidetracked and was putting the finishing touch on a plush which was disconcertedly well done considering what he had to work with. (It was pretty sad, seriously. It felt like he was trying to build a robot and only had a chisel and a rock to work with.) In his defense, the idea was fucking amusing and he was going to roll with it for now, and as he turned it over in his hands to make sure he didn't miss a spot he had to admit...it ain't his best work, but it ain't the worst he's done either.

Enter someone else. You? Why not. If he knows you, assume that if he sees you he'll give you a nod of recognition, a sort of silent broed sup. If he's related to you or you're somebody from back home, he'd give you a hey, a greeting with your name. There may be a slight amused smirk accompanying the above. Your call.]

[Having finished the last of his ice cream with a decisive and slightly smug bite of the cone, Dirk opted to lean back. There may be the ever so slight of smirks upon his countenance if but briefly. It's faint, like rosy-fingered dawn had opted to blearily paw at the horizon before turning in her bed and mumbling, "Ten more minutes." Ethereal, quick to show and quick to fade to something a bit more serious.]

[Jake's a tad slower than Dirk, which is probably because he prefers eating it with as little mess as possible. He doesn't want to be sticky all day, thank you very much. Upon finishing, Jake's quiet for a couple seconds.]

You know, I can't remember things being this calm before.

Things never have been for me, so I get what you mean, English. I won't lie, I've been waiting for something to happen...the Batterwitch shows up here, Mac Anu's set on fire, strike a pose as shit has just gotten real.

Perhaps it's a chance for us to relax a bit before getting back into the thick of it?

[If there rest of them were here, it'd be perfect.]

[Don't start, you kno- technically his feelings on that matter have been air-... whatever.]

Maybe. If this was Sburb we'd probably be hit with profound lessons on life and everything we're supposed to deal with in our future at some point or another. Maybe have a quest involving our respective planets while we're at it.

Yet at far as I can tell that hasn't at all been part of this particular game.

Yeah. It's like the only things this game wants is for us to chill, take a load off, and have a good time. [And why would a place want that?]

I wouldn't mind having a bit of that, but are you happy about it?

...not exactly. I appreciate the breather, but I've got unfinished business back home. [...he said as he's going to just chill.]

Speaking of home, what sort of fauna did you see, other than the gulls?

[splinterself]

Mainly fish. Some you'd recognize, some mutated shit from the Batterwitch's homeworld. [And for the last he gestures vaguely, implying a thing with many tentacles or some...other things which protrude and wiggle obscenely.]

Something like those horrorterrors you've been going on about with Derse?

[splinterself]

Maybe a little, with Derse being a thousand times worse. Seriously, sometimes I wish I was a Prospit dreamer.

It certainly seems like we got the better end of the bargain. Though, really, I couldn't tell you. You'd have to ask Jane if there were any downsides to it.

I doubt she'd know. [Because she DIED FOREVER. Awkward.] I'm the only one awake, last I knew.

She was awake for a little while, at least. [He can't say the same, which goes unsaid since...yeah. Also awkward.]

It doesn't matter anyway. I mean, even if I say I'd rather be awake on Prospit, I'm sure if I was I'd be going, "God damn, what's happening over on Derse?" And trying to figure out a way to get over there somehow to find shit out.

Just can't win with you, huh? Then again, I think I'd be the same way.

Why don't you tell me some more stuff about Derse? I doubt I'll ever get a chance to actually see it with my own eyes.

Big, purple, and the brass was trying to kill us four. You're not really missing much. You should be glad, English, that it's nowhere you'll ever go.

You must have learned some things about it. What about the...what are they? Carapaces or some such?

Oh, yeah. Well, keep in mind that I had to pretend like I was asleep the entire time, so the extent of my conversations with them involved a lot of snoring on my part.
