[And just another teenager's mid-day complaint. Pit had been wandering for the better part of a couple of hours now, and though getting home would definitely be nice... he was still that teenage boy, run by his stomach. Trudge trudge trudge.]

HEY, LOOK OUT! [looks like Pit had just wandered unknowingly into another player's path! ~~tap LEFT/RIGHT on your control stick to perform the QUICK STEP~~ Adjusting his steps quickly, Sonic jumps up and over the brunette - twisting like a gymnast along the way - before landing in a crouch on Pit's other side (a short jump and pose later...)]

[Stumbling to his feet- as the young angel had fallen backwards in surprise, he gapes, wide-eyed and tummy rumbling]

That... was... AWESOME!! I didn't even see you come in!

[Sonic folds his arms behind his head and grins] Yea well, what can I say? [he unfolds his arms and snaps his fingers, grin on his face] It just comes naturally-

[he raises an eyebrow (EYEBROWS, LEGITIMATE EYEBROWS!!!) when he hears Pit's stomach]

... You hungry, guy?

[a slight fluttering of his too-small wings--] Oh, so you heard that, huh? Heh, yeah, being thrown into a place I've never been really works up an appetite, y'know? Um, you wouldn't know where to get a pizza or something around here, would you? Or steak fries, or pancakes, or...

[Rumble, gurgle...]

[he shakes his head with a sigh, spiky hair flying wildly before looking up with that same confident grin] Yea, world hopping takes a lot outta ya. Now that I think about, I could use a bite too. So how's about we go get lunch? Y'know... [he pokes Pit's stomach playfully] Before your stomach decides to go and get something to eat by itself.

[He starts forward a few steps, pausing only to make sure this guy's still coming before jogging along] My name's Pit, by the way! It's nice to meet you!

Sonic's the name, speed's my game! Nice to meet you, Pit. For some reason, I'm getting this weird feeling of deja vu.

But anyway! What're you doing just dragging yourself 'round like that? If you're gonna explore, at least do it properly.

I guess I'm just not that used to going it alone nowadays. Kind of a bummer having to hoof it around on foot everywhere, too. [wingflap...]

[looks over] Really? Like we've seen each other before kinda like this but not really, right? Right? ... Well, it's not possible because I've never looked like this before, but eh.

[head tilt (look! His ears move too)] What's wrong with your wings? And hey now [grin] Flying's fine and dandy, but you get to see waaaaay more when you're at ground level.

Um... I don't really get a lot of what you just said, but yeah, I think that's pretty much it!

And-- there's nothing wrong with them! [flutter] Just that the power of flight is more my boss' department than mine. It's easier to get around with her help, that's for sure!

[Looking off towards the shops now, sniffing softly] Aaah, I can smell it! Whatever it is back there, it smells great!

... Pit? Hate to say it, but you sure know how to make lackluster first impressions. [/swt]

Uh huh. [shrugs] This place isn't that big, so no worries. [then a grin as Sonic darts ahead] C'mon then! No point just standing around. Dunno how much money I've gotten from the monsters out in the fields but we'll just say that you're treating next time.

[well, no time to worry about that-- running to catch up with Sonic's surprising speed!]

So... monsters in the fields, huh? So this town's kinda like a safehouse, right? Like a menu screen, ha!

Well, s'not like I'll chase you down - because I could do that in a heartbeat - to get my money back, but it's just manners. Don't dine and run, that's just no good.

[Grins and orders... awww, only meat buns? Okay, two meat buns for them]

No, no, it's more like a world map! Here. [hands Pit one of the meat buns] Y'know those weird things you woke up next to? That's how you go from town to field.

[from elsewhere in the store, you hear the sound of an NPC scoffing. Something along the lines of "Isn't that obvious?"]

Hey, I'm no punk! Seriously, next one's on me. Thanks! [He's already digging into his bun, listening attentively as he takes big bites out]

[chomp, chew] You meeh dat big aefuh ring lookih fingy? [ulp] Do I just jump into it or what?

Holding you to that, angel boy. [om, nom nom]

Mmf? [swallow, and he licks his fingers before continuing] 'Aefuh'? Dunno what you're talking about, but yea. It's that weird warp ring over there. A menu opens up when you walk up to it, it's the craziest thing.

[a pause... It looks a lot like the start screen that pops up every so often but would anyone get that?]

Almost the craziest thing. Nowhere near as nice as a world map, but it works.

User friendly interface, at least? Heh heh! [almost... done already...] So... fields and towns, huh? Sounds pretty simple so far. Was everyone else here dropped in like this, too?

I don't think it's everyone else. [shrugs] Haven't gotten 'round to talking to a lot of people. I'm the type who likes to jump straight into the stage without all that exposition.

... Except for that phase in my life. But you live and learn.

No? Huh, I wonder what this place is about, then. And nothing wrong with that kind of attitude! Heck, most of the time I'm just learning about stuff on the go. Always moving, right?

Of course! Who likes to just sit there anyway?

... Dunno, but might as well try out some other genre besides adventure.

Or fighting... beat 'em up... actually, I'm not sure what to call that one.

So, we just... beat bad guys and get stuff from it? What else do we do?

Clear dungeons? Rout the enemy and seize the throne or treasure? Something like that.

The stuff's not bad. Money, some gear, so on and so forth. It's kinda lame right now, because it's just low level stuff. At least they're not just giving me candy bars like the last time I had to do something like this!
